The characters didn't intrigue me all that much - in fact they struck me as shallow and self indulgent, with the exception of Lady Bird's father.<br /><br />I definitely think it speaks to anyone who cringes when they think of their own self-discovery process as a teen or young adult. So much of it is painful to watch, probably because much of it is familiar and thought-provoking. Particularly if you were in highschool or college during the 90s/early 2000s. But.....familiarity doesn't make the cringing stop, unfortunately. I wanted to enjoy this, I just didn't. Sorry, Saoirse!
